SUPERVOID Casting Call

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for SUPERVOID.

At this time, we are searching for a young lady (age 9-15) to play the lead in SUPERVOID. No acting experience? No problem! We want you to bring your true self to the screen. Introverts are welcome. Shy? Quiet? Perfect! We believe the quietest voices can still have powerful stories to tell.

*We have in person auditions November 15-16 at USC’s Booker T Washington building. Please sign up for a slot here. We would love to meet you!

To audition virtually, please:

Logline: SUPERVOID follows Sophia, a young girl captivated by astrology, whose world is turned upside down when her dog is hit by her neighbor. Raised by an overwhelmed single dad, she faces her emotions without adult guidance. Joined by her friend April, Sophia embarks on a quest for justice, discovering that embracing her true self is the key to coping—even if it sets you apart from everyone else.

TAPING INSTRUCTIONS - PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY!

1. Slate

In a medium close-up shot (head & shoulders) please start recording then state the following:

  1. Name

  2. Height

  3. Tell us about a recent dream or nightmare.

*There is no need to pause recording between the slate and the scene. However, if you do record two files please use an app (like iMovie) to merge the two together.

2. Scene

Please record a video of the actor reading the scene below in a medium shot in front of a simple background. For grown ups / readers - stand close behind the camera and read the mom/dad lines, and if no one’s available to hold it you are welcome to use a stand.

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS *Keep reading, you're almost there!*

  1. Do not stress about making your audition video high tech. We just need to be able to see and hear you. Recording on a phone is okay!

  2. Please label your video as follows: "First Name_Last Name - ROLE”; Example: Sam_Smith - BOB

  3. Save your audition video online (Google Drive, YouTube, or Vimeo). We cannot accept .mp4 files.

  4. When you upload the online video it should be ‘unlisted.’ That is: not visible to anyone without direct access to the link.

  5. When your audition video link is ready, fill out this form (you can also click the button “submit here for a role”) and include your audition link.
